Silent Hill 4 The Room - Quick Walk Through
I have posted the following stuffs to silenthillforum.co.uk before, this page is created for people who doesn’t visit there or wants to read it in a single page. And it is a little revised version.
1. The dirty room
- Go to the living room and check the face on the wall
- Go to the door, an event happens
2. Normal room
- Check the phone, an event happens
- Check the window, you will see someone special
- Go to the living room, check the storage chest
- Check the note at the bottom of the radio cabinet besides the window
- Check the other stuffs if you are interested and make sure you know where the save point is
- Check the fridge if you are interested, the stuffs are not really useful at the moment
- Go to the main door, an event happens and you will see someone special
- Exit peephole viewing and you will hear a sound
- Check the note under the door.
- Check the bathroom, take the steel pipe and go through the hole
- You will need to move along the hole yourself for the first time
3. Subway
- Just go straight forward and you will meet someone
- Go forward (only one way even with a bend) and an event happens
- Beat the monsters and check the “rooms” in front of you.
- Go through the hole in one of the rooms
4. Normal Room
- Go to the living room, check the furniture near the kitchen
- Take the pistol, check the notes and then sneak through the hole
- The phone rings, take the call
- Check the peephole if you want to see someone again
- Go through the hole in the bathroom
5. Subway
- Check the special thing, take the coins
- Go to the turnstile, go through the gate with the coins
- Go down the stairs, you will meet something, I would say just run away from them
- Go further down the stairs on the right, you will meet someone there
- Go inside the driver room of the train, turn that switch
- Go to the opened door of the train near the end of the platform
- Find your way to the opposite platform, go to the other end of the platform and enter the room
- You will lost trace of someone in that room with a big hole
- Go through the hole and back to the room then return if you want
- Go down the ladder, go to the ladder on the other end of the corridor, go up and unlock the door
- Go down the ladder, go to the middle branch and keep going and go through a door
- You will see something really special on your right
- Go forward a bit and you will hear something
- Use the escalator and go to the office, somethings are waiting for you besides the escalators
- Take the Placard on the door and go inside, an event happens
6. Normal Room
- Check the window, an event happens
- Go to the living room, something from the radio (turned on by itself)
- Check the note under the door
- Check the peephole if you are interested
- Check the sneak hole if you are interested
- Get “Chocolate Milk” from the fridge
- Go through the hole in the bathroom
7. Forest
- Go through the door, you will see another hole not far away from you
- Go through the double door, prepare to fight with something
- Only one way to go from there, to another double door, go pass it, another fight
- Go outside and you will see a car, check the car from the opened door, read and take the note
- Go through the door, you will meet someone besides the rock, listen to him if you are interested
- Go through the door, prepare for fight, another door again with yet another fight
- Enter the Wish house area
- Check all the notes/messages there
- Go to the door at the lower left corner of the area in the map
- Go through the other door in the area, prepare to face something that cannot be killed
- Go through the double door in the area, an event happens
- Check the stuffs around the area, return to wish house area
- Go to that guy in front of the door, listen to what he says if you are interested
- Give something he wants (from your fridge), he will give you back something, take that
- Go through the door at the lower right corner of the area in the map
- Fight or evade and go through the other door and then go through yet another door
- There is something really interesting with the trees, use the tool the guy gave you there, you will get a key
- You can’t go back to the Wish house by the forest with that in your inventory
- Go through the door near by prepare to see something that can’t be killed again
- Go back to your room through the hole
8. Normal Room
- Go to the living room, open the chest and put that special key into the chest
- Somone ring your bell, check the peephole
- Go through the hole in the bathroom
9. Forest
- Now you can go back to the wish house
- Go back to your room by going through the hole in the wish house area and get the special key from the chest and return
- Use the special key to open the door of Wish House, enter it
- Check the notes near the cupboard in front of you
- Check the note at the left corner, you will hear something
- Take the Placard on the door which you can see smoke come out
- Go through that door and an event happens
10. Normal Room
- Radio will be on and you will hear a report of a homicide in the forest of Silent Hill
- Go out of the room, the door bell rang, check the peephole and you will see someone
- Put your placards into the chest as you don’t need them until later in the game
- Go through the hole in the bathroom
15. Water Prison
- You will hear someone crying for help, check all the rooms in this level and read all the notes
- Check the notes on the ground on your current floor near the locked man
- Go through the double door, check the note near the hole
- Go through the door on the left of the double door, prepare to face some strong things if you go straight, but there is a faster way
- Go all the way down to the door at the end of the circular stairs, the fastest way to go there is use the ladders go down at the one near the door you just get through from the hole area, then go up a bit and take another ladder down and you will be right in front of the door at the end of the corridor
- Go through the door, check the board near the end of the stairs down there, get a key, check the board again for the notes
- Go back to the hole room, use the key to open the door on the right of the double door
- Go out and take the ladders to the top of the water prison
- Go inside the double door, turn the valve on the other side, an event happens
- Go to the 3rd floor, check all the rooms and read all the notes
- Go to the 2nd floor, check all the rooms and read all the notes
- Go back to the 3rd floor, go into South West room with a hole
- Jump down the hole, jump again and again.
- Now you are in the shower room at the basement, you will need to fight 2 big monsters.
- Go out of the room and up on the center ladder, read the note at 1/F center room
- Check all peepholes, mark the location of the blood bed
- Go up on the ladder, read the note at 2/F center room
- Check all peepholes, mark the location of the blood bed
- Turn the rotation control to align the room with blood bed with the 1st floor (4 times right will do, and indeed 4 times left will also do, but just take right as a simple route)
- Go up on the ladder, read the note at 3/F center room
- Check all peepholes, mark the location of the blood bed
- Turn the rotation control to align the room with blood bed with the 1st and 2nd floor (2 times right will do)
- While turning the rotation control, an event happens, make sure you turned a total of 2 times right, don’t be tricked to believe you’re done when you see the event of someone being released
- Go all the way down to the basement on the ladder, an evenr happens
- Go out on the center door, use the ladder on the left of the door to go up
- Go back to 3rd floor, go to the room with blood bed (the room besides the pipe with water flowing out, N-E-N position)
- Jump and jump and jump down, now you are at the kitchen
- Remove the Placard from the door and enter the code from the note at the center room of 3/F, an event happens
16. The room
- Go to the living room, you will hear some kind of water sound
- Check any note under the door
- Put the Placard into the chest
- Check the peephole if you want to see someone
- Check the sneak hole if you want to
- Check the shower and the bathtub of the bathroom
- Check the hole, go through it
19. Buildings
- Follow the path and go to the area with a car
- Go down the stairs, prepare to fight
- Go down another stairs, an event happens
- After the event, prepare to fight again
- Go through that door, follow the path to a room where a special thing is struggling on the ground, check it, take the key, and take that special item if you want (but prepared to be chased)
- Use the key to go out of the door near that thing, go down the stairs and get through the door on the lowest level of the stairs, then go through the other door and then another door
- Take the stuffs there, go through the door that is opposite of the door you entered the room
- Go down the stairs and enter the door on the lower level, prepare to fight
- Take the key from the rack, go back to the room with a hole
- Go through the other door with the key you got on the rack, prepare to fight
- Go down all the stairs, prepare to fight again
- Go to the side ledge and take the last elevator, an event happens
- Go down the ladder, beat those easy things in the corridor
- Go up on the ladder at the end of that corridor, prepare to fight
- Follow the path and prepare to fight after passing the end of the path
- Go through the door and go down the stairs, go through the door
- Go all the way down the stairs, go through the only door that you can open
- Beware of the worms, quite some of them there
- Get the weapon and read the note, go through the hole to go back to your room
20. The Room
- Check your window, remember the phone number of “Bar Southfield”
- Check the peephole at the door, after the event, take the note under the door
- Go through the hole in the bathroom
21. Buildings
- Use the last 4 digits of the bar phone number to open the locked door
- Go out of the door, you will hear a loud sound, prepare to meet a trouble thing
- Go all the way up on the stairs and check that door
- Remove the Placard and enter the door, an event happens
22. The Room
- Go to the living room, radio will be on automatically
- Watch out of the window, an event happens
- Check the peephole if you are interested
- Check the sneak hole if you are interested
- Manage your inventory
- Go through the hole in the bathroom
23. Apartment
- Go into the room 301 next to you, read the notes, take the red paper
- Go into the room inside 301, take the magazine and check the pictures and take the keys at each picture
- Slip the red note at room 302
- Go down to the 1st floor, at the stairs you will meet a man, listen to him if you are interested, you can ignore the doll, it does nothing good
- Use the key on the lockers at the 1st floor open area
- Go into the left side door of the 1st floor, use the key on room 105
- Take the 2 red notes, keys and read the memo beside the red notes, check the red box a the cabinet
- Go into the sleeping room and read the diary
- Check the fridge at room 102, check the fridge until you get a red note
- Go to room 203, take the bug spray, go inside the room, check the blood stained shirt, take the red note
- Go to room 205, take the cassette on the table
- Go to room 207, take the revolver on the chair, it may be useful to you
- Go back and slip all the red notes to 302
- Go into room 301, go through the hole
24. The room
- Check all the notes at the door
- Use the cassette on the radio
- Manage your inventory
- Take a key besides the bed in your bedroom (window side)
- Go through the hole in your bathroom
25. Apartment
- Go out and open room 303, an event happens
26. The room
- Check the window, an event happens
- Go to the living room, check the stuffs at the door, you will get a Talisman and a note
- Take the 4 placards from the chest
- Go to the storage room, use the newly acquired Talisman on the evil face on the wall
- Read the notes, use the 4 placards on the 4 positions, a new hole will appear
- Go through the hole
27. Hospital
- Check all the rooms, check the x-ray viewer, check all the notes, take the cutter, make sure you know which room has a hole
- Take the bag at the corridor to the lift
- Go up stairs, the rooms in this floor are random, so you may have to check until the end of the corridor, but beware of the moving stuffs in the corridor
- One of the room has a snake that has a key, take the key, you will be inside a cage, use the same key to open the cage
- One of the room has something reeeaaaally interesting, make sure you check it
- One of the room is locked and can only be opened with the above key, open and enter that room, you will find someone familiar and an event happens
- Use the lift switch to call the lift at this floor, enter the lift if you want (but prepare to fight)
- Go down to the lower floor and go through the hole
28. The room
- Check the stuffs at the door, you will get a small key and something else
- Go back through the hole in the storage room
29. Hospital
- The lift area is now opened (you called the lift on the higher floor), use the newly acquired key to open the gate, go through the door at the end of the path
30. Subway re-visit
- Follow the path to 2 doors, only one can be opened, go out
- Go to the female toilet, get through the hole
31. The room
- Take the Lynch line coins from the chest
- Check the stuffs at the door, you will get a toy key
- Ggo through the hole in the storage room
32. Subway re-visit
- Go to the turnstile, a creepy host is waiting for you
- Use the coins to get to the platform
- Find the toy box marked “1000$” in the train, use the toy key on it
- Lead your partner to the room on the platform with a door you unlocked on the other ladder when you first visited the subway
- Go down the ladder, an event happen, and go up the ladder on the other side
- Go back to your room and wash the coin at the kitchen sink and go back
- Go down the ladder, go through the middle branch of the corridor, go up on the escalator with some strong monsters
- Go to the turnstile office and get the commutor ticket on the ground in front of the office door
- Use the coins to go back to the room where your partner is
- Use the washed coin on the machine marked “1$”, you will get a special key
- Go back out at the exit and use the commutor ticket to enter the opposite line gate
- Open the office door with the special key, take the handle inside the office
- Go down the escalator with the strong monsters
- Go into the train and go to the driving room, use the handle, go towards the end of the train and you will see a new path, go out on that path, an event happens and someone really special will be waiting for you
- Finish him or leave him alone (if your partner follows you) and go out through that door
- Go all the way down to the end of the spiral stairs and get out of that door
33. Forest re-visit
- There is a hole outside the double door, you may visit your room and disgard the unneccessary stuffs and replenish supplies if you want
- Check the fire at the corner, take the torch, light the torch, prepare to fight or just leave him alone
- Go out and check the well with the lighted torch, you will get something you need later on, and prepare to fight again
- Get out at the gate, prepare to fight again
- Get out yet another gate, you will be in a familiar area with a new look and something really special (not an enemy) object, check that object, remember to also check the note on the ground before you reached the slope to that object
- Use the thing you get from the well on that special object
- Go back to your room and use the torch at the oil tank in the storage room to extend the life of it, go back through that hole
- Go out at the North West door of the map in this area, somethings are waiting for you
- Go through the door, take the pick axe if you want, go to the lake side and an event happens, take the special medallion
- Light the torch and get back to the place where you just fighted and check the well in that area, you will get something for that special object
- Go back to that familiar area and use that new something on that special object
- Go out at the South East door of the map in the area with the object
- Go through another door and prepare to fight again, finish him off and go through another door, pass the trees and go through yet another door
- Light the torch and check the well, you will get something you should know where to use now
- Use that something at that familiar area, then go out on the North East door and then another door
- Going through yet another door will get you to the big stone area that has a “friendly” host waiting for you
- Handle that thing, light the torch, go back out from where you go in and check the well, get the item for that special object and go back to the large stone area, go out on the other door, you will be in the area with a car
- Go out through the other door, another familiar area but something cannot be killed is waiting for you, go out through the other door, you will see something special moving, leave it alone and then go out at yet another door
- Light the torch at the fire near the door, go out on the other door and check the well, the last item for that special object were found
- Go all the way back to that special object and use the items on it, an event happens
- Go down the now uncovered ladder, check the book, use the medallion on the locked door, go out through that door
- Go all the way down to the end of the spiral stairs and get out of that door
- Go into the lift and you will reach another area
34. Water Prison re-visit
- There is a hole in the lift area, go back and manage your inventory if you need to
- Go out of the door with a sign, a troublesome guy is waiting for you, you can leave without fighting
- Walk down one level of the spiral path, the troublesome guy will follow and you don’t really need to fight him
- Enter the double door at 3/F, go to the hole room with blood bed, jump all the way down
- Enter the room with a keypad that you unlocked, get the blood clothes on the floor, go all the way out to the spiral stairs
- Use th ladder to get up to the hole room at 1/F, go back through the hole to your room and use the blood clothes at the blood stained bathtub and return
- Go to a room with bottles of black powder at 2/F and get the special Sword from under the bed, go back to the spiral stairs, an event happens
- Use the ladders as usual to go all the way down to the waterwheel area and wait for something you have to pin down with the special sword, you will get a key after pinning it down
- Use the key to open the door in the waterwheel area, kill all the monsters there
- Go back to the room where your partner is, take her all the way down and go into the door you unlocked in the waterwheel area and enter it, go through the other door at the end of the path
- Go all the way down to the end of the spiral stairs and get out of that door
35. Buildings re-visit
- A troublesome host is waiting for you and you cannot kill it, pin it down if you can
- Take the lift, press the buttom button, go down the ladder, your partner will stay in the lift and you can do whatever you like
- Go up on the opposite ladder, use the top button of the lift, go out of the lift, follow the path, go up the stairs, enter the door at the top of the stairs
- You will be at a familiar place, take the coloured candles, go out at the next to the hole, and go out yet another door and then one more door
- Go up the stairs and enter the door at the top of the stairs, take the stuffed cat and use the coloured candles on the cake
- Go back to the hole room, go to the pet shop, use the stuffed cat on the animal cage
- Go back to the lift, use the bottom button, go down the ladder
- Go to the ladder at the end of a narrow corridor, take the cue ball at the end of that corridor
- Go up the ladder there, follow the path, after a few turns an event happens
- Follow the path and at the end of the path, take the volley ball near the bulk of boxes
- Enter the door and go out at the door on the lower floor, beware of the moving stuffs
- Go down the stairs and enter the only door that can be opened, read the notes, put the cur ball on the billard table
- Go through the hole and call the number of the bar with the phone in the room, remember the new number, go back through the hole at the storage room
- Key in the last 4 digits of the new number, go back to the lift where your partner stays
- Use the top button, go to the hole room (sports shop), use the volley ball at the basket, you will hear something
- Go to the pet shop and get out of the other door, read the pages lying on the floor
- Go down the stairs and enter the door, go out at the door with a clock
- Go all the way down, go out at the only door that can be opened
- Fight the things and get out of another door, go all the way down on the stairs, unlock and go out of the door at the bottom
- You’ll return to a familiar place, follow the path and get back to the bar
- Go out at the door you unlocked with the new numbers, go all the way down the ladders, get out of the door with a sign
- One of the dummies is the one truth in this room, if you shoot the right one all others will be hurt, find it and shoot/beat it to death and unlock the other door
- Go out at the unlocked door when you are done, go all the way down the stairs, check the note in front of the door and enter the door
36. Room 302 of the past
- Check all the notes and items in the area, go back to the living room and an event happens
- Get the special pickaxe from the special wall, go through the hole in the toilet
37. The room
- Use the pickaxe on the same wall in the other room that you’ve taken it, enter the cracked wall, an event happens
- Investigate the obvious things, take the keys, check the paper at the storage room, check the notes at the door
- Open the locked main door with the keys
38. Apartment re-visit
- Your partner will reunit with you, go into room 301, go down the stairs to room 201
- Go out of room 201, go into room 202, go through the cracked wall to room 203, get out of room 203
- Go out of this corridor at the double door, fight or evade the stuffs, go into the other corridor of the 2nd floor
- Go into room 206, the man with gun is waiting, fight, go through the cracked wall in a room to room 207
- Go out of room 207, go down the stairs, check room 105, go out of the double door of the corridor, your partner will stare on something and won’t follow you
- Go into the other corridor of the 1st floor, check the corridor for all the hanging spirits, go back out of the corridor, an event happens
- Go into room 105, check the red box, an event happens, go out of the room, an event happens
- Go back all the way to room 302, manage your inventory, go into the cracked hole
- Check the black patch in front of the fridge, go into it, an event happens
39. Crimson Tome
- Check the center hole, go into it, an event happens, use the red box on the center monster
- Remove all the spears and use them on the center monster
- Fight with that obvious enemy and the game ends when the enemy is defeated
